Clearwater -If you're looking for sun and sand, you'll find plenty of both on the 28 miles of slim barrier islands that skirt the Gulf shore of the Pinellas Peninsula. One million visitors coming here every year. But you'll also discover some of the nation's finest beaches, some of which are protected from development by parks and nature preserves. Clearwater Beach has silky sands that attract active families and couples.

Clearwater Marine Aquarium CLEARWATER This little jewel of an aquarium on Clearwater Harbor is very low-key and friendly; it's dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of marine mammals and sea turtles. Exhibits include otters, sea turtles, sharks, stingrays, mangroves, and sea grass.
CMA provides a home for many marine animals rescued and rehabilitated by our stranding response team, which is one of the nation's most successful.  Although many of these injured or sick animals are subsequently released, some have become permanent CMA residents due to the extent of their injuries or permanent disabilities.  CMA resident animals include a dolphin, sea turtles and North American river otters.
